HINO Contessa

Hino Contessa Hino Motors is a largest manufacturer company of domestic truck and bus now. However, they had some unique vehicles in the past.

HINO Contessa was released in 1961 as a first in-house passenger vehicle.
Hino Contessa 900 is a 4-door RR sedan, and has a GP20 L4 OHV 893cc engine that long stroke of 60x79mm was adopted. It has 3 speed column shift gear box and the suspension adopts front wishbone/coil and rear swing axle/coils. Semi-automatic transmission is an option.

In 1964, Hino Contessa 1300 sedan was released, and Hino Contessa 1300 coupe was released in 1965. The Hino Contessa 1300 coupe has GR100 1251cc L4 OHV engine that makes 65PS. And it comes with 4 speed manual transmission.

Hino won the 1st place in the touring class and 2nd place in the sports car class at the first japan Grand Prix in 1963.
